The APT-E Conservation & Support Group at the National Railway Museum
NEWS UPDATE 60.
Updated 23rd October 2007.
The first meeting took place at the NRM on the 1st April 2000, in total 8 members of the group were able to attend.

The group were delighted to meet Kit Spackman who worked as head tilt engineer during the APT-E project.
Several topic were discussed, the main ones being in two categories :
SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES.
1. Weatherproofing
2. Stop any further degradation of the train
3. Record sound archive of the existing "Old Team"
4. Raise the profile of the APT-E group project
5. Make an inventory of APT-E and find out what we need.
LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE.
1. Make the APT-E fit for display
2. Ensure the long term survival of APT-E
3. Tell the magic story of the APT for future generations.

APT-E Move to Shildon gets underway - TC2 the first to leave NRM.
The rest of E train is split for the first time in 30 years
Final phase of the E train move is completed.
